[Manila, April 18]
The legendary hip-hop trio of Tablo, Mithra Jin, and DJ Tukutz, collectively known as Epik High, rocked Manila on Saturday in their Concert Parade performing their hits in an intimate crowd in the SM Skydome Saturday night.
The show was slated to start at 8PM, but fans started to gather outside of the venue as early as 4PM, all looking forward to the concert and excited to see the group. Fans sported shirts and glowing wristbands with the group’s name and holding posters and banners all ready for the concert to start.
The strings intro of Encore signaled the start of the show. Fans screamed as one by one, Tablo, Mithra and Tukutz appeared on stage. The energy continued to hype up with their second song Fly. The crowd was all jumping up and down, literally rocking the skydome. They shouted ‘Make some noise!!!’ and the crowd gleefully obliged and screamed at the top of their lungs. Up and Burj Khalifa followed and everyone was waving their hands up and down with the beat of the music.
They said the atmosphere was getting hot so let’s cool things down, and they sang Cold after. They were getting drenched with sweat and Tablo wiped Mithra’s face with a towel and threw it to the audience!
During their talk, they said that they were very happy to be here and expressed their love to their fans. They said that when they arrived in Manila, they were surprised that the weather was hot because in Korea, their weather is still winter-ish. But they said they love it and the weather here was just right! They then sang another slow song Happen Ending.
Tablo mentioned that they would like to come back with Sandara Park (2NE1) next time. DJ Tukutz showcased some silly dance moves with the delight of the fans. Mithra stood beside DJ Tukutz at the DJ booth as Tablo performed Eyes Nose Lips next, which he introduced telling the audience to remember a person they missed the most with this song. He then modified the lines of the song to “I wish you well” and the crowd screamed in response.
They followed this with Kill This Love, High Technology, and Fan. At this point, Mithra and Tablo kept on splashing water to the audience everywhere. They have also signed several albums that fans have brought on stage and even grabbed fan’s phones and took photos themselves.
As the lights went out, fans screamed for more. They chanted ‘We Want More!’, ‘Born Hater!’, and ‘Epik High!’. A few minutes later, the members granted their wish and returned to the stage performing Born Hater. During their last song, Tablo took a video of the audience and bid everyone goodbye.
Fans were still on a high as they took selcas and posed themselves at the stage after the show ended.
This is Epik High’s first time to perform in Manila. This Concert Parade was brought to you buy Pulp Live World and 28 Black.
